Gmail has added a new welcome feature, that was announced just today — something that can allow you to almost retract an arrow after shooting it, as long as you realize it soon enough. If you are like me, your have more than once hit the “send” button on email and then instantly realized that “Oops, I forgot the attachment, or I shouldn’t have written that, or I should have written that, or I didn’t spell-check”. According to today’s announcement on the official gmail blog, if you activate this feature on gmail labs, you will get 5 seconds after a “send” click to undo the action.

Google Undo Send

You think five seconds are enough? I don’t, but who has more time to hold a mail?

To activate this feature, click “Labs” on your Gmail settings and scroll down almost to the end.

Now that you are on this page, look over all the cool features Gmail labs provides. I like the “Forgotten Attachment Detector” which looks for words like “attaching” in your email and then reminds you if you havent attached a file. I am also going to try “Multiple Inboxes” and “Custom keyboard shortcuts”.
